TEHRAN, Jun. 18 (MNA) – Iranian documentary ‘Silence’ directed by Maryam Pirband will go on screen at the competition section of Los Angeles International Culture Film Festival.

Silence narrates one day of the life of a deaf mother whose job is hard and strange, cleaning the glass facades of high-rise buildings. On the day, she faces an event and tries to save the life of a woman, while she was herself in danger.

Iranian prominent director Rakhshan Bani Etemad and actor Bahram Radan are among the members of the jury of the festival.

Silence grabbed the Best Director Award at Uluslararası Kar Film Festival and has so far been displayed at many international and national events.

Los Angeles International Culture Film Festival (LAICFF) aims not only to support under-discovered filmmakers with exhibition platform and development opportunities, but more importantly, to raise awareness and improve understanding of diverse international cultures in America, and to enhance the influence of these global cultures via the power of cinema.
